Current research and teaching

As of Fall 2016/Spring 2017 I am fortunate to be working as a post-doctoral researcher on two projects with faculty mentors at UT’s School of Information:

Distributed Science is an NSF-funded project led by James Howison and Nicholas Berente (University of Georgia) designed to support researchers working on virtual science and engineering teams coordinate, communicate, and share data across distances.

With Diane Bailey and other colleagues, I am collaborating on a project exploring information and communication technologies for development (ICT4D) efforts across several countries to identity which factors are correlated with successful initiatives.

I’m also starting a project looking at open records requests and data journalism in the U.S. and other countries with some collaborators in the EU.

During the Spring (2017) semester I am helping out in a investigative journalism course  at UT’s School of Journalism with some data methods and tools.
